In this workshop, we'll work on how to bring a bit of mess into your scenes and how the mess can lead to fun. Joyful chaos and a little trouble are great additions to game and character!

Topics covered in this workshop:

Establishing a strong character perspective
Playing and developing a fun voice of reason in scenes
Getting comfortable in the slop

This workshop is useful for any improviser looking to strengthen their character work, any polite improviser trying to tap into their inner troublemaker, or anyone trying to get out of their head when it comes to game. Be prepared to get messy (metaphorically of course!) and embrace the silly.

🍎 Prerequisites

Completion of two or more long-form improv classes from an organization’s core curriculum.

📗 Instructor Bio

Kristina has been improvising for over 10 years, with about five of those as artistic director for Atlas Improv Co. in Madison, WI. She values strong character work and honest reactions, and if you get her started on narrative or genre, she’ll talk forever. Kristina has performed at a number of improv festivals in her narrative duo Goodison, including The Endurance Improv Festival, the Countdown Improv Festival, the 2nd Best Comedy Fest, and the Omaha Improv Festival. She also performs with the WIT ensembles The Broken Bones and Uncle Gorgeous.
